Dear students a great news to you all!!! There is a high possibility of JEE Advanced exam to be changed to a computerised pattern from next year.This decision is yet to be taken by the Joint Admission board when they are scheduled to meet early this september.

JEE Advanced is an enterance exam for entering IIT's which is termed as one of the prestigious Engineering institution in india,is elgible to only those candidates who have cleared the JEE Mains,which is the initial part of the enterance exam.It is estimated that a total of 12.75 Lakh students appear for JEE mains and out of that only 1.5 Lakh students are eligible to write JEE Advanced

On Sunday, members of the board, the highest body that takes decisions on admissions to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), said the JEE-Advanced in 2014 could be offered as a computer-based exam since "it is a step of being forward"

This was first discussed by IIT Bombay Director-Devang Khakar because the total number of candidates eligible for writing this exam has dropped to 1.5 Lakh.
In the year 2013 it was observed that a total of 12.82 Lakh students applied for the JEE mains exam when India took its big step towards the 'one nation, one exam system'. Among them, only 1.74 lakh candidates took the computer-based test. The next level, which is the JEE (Advanced) test for admissions to the IITs, received 1.5 lakh candidates.

IIT-Kharagpur, which is in charge of conducting the JEE (Advanced) for 2014, will parse through the 2013 database. "As a starting point, we'll see how many of the students who qualified for the IIT (Advanced) took the main test on computer," said an IIT official.

He also continued by stating that along with the computer based exam,paper-pen exam will also be carried out at in as many centres simultaneously and signed off by taking more measures towards the exam and to be more cautious throughout the process.
