The teams representing 8 different cities of India, including Bangalore, were put up on auction in Mumbai on 20 February 2008 and the Bangalore team was won by Vijay Mallya, who paid US$111.6 million for it. This was the second highest bid for a team in the IPL, next only to Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries' bid of $111.9 million for the Mumbai team. Bollywood actresses Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone, and Sandalwood film stars Ramya and Puneeth Rajkumar are the brand ambassadors of the team.RCB were the finalist of the 2009 & 2011 IPL tournament and were also the finalist of 2011 CLT20 but missed by an inch to be crowned as the champions!!!

Kolkata Knight Riders
The Kolkata Knight Riders Team is a cricket franchise and reprsent the Kolkata in IPL 6 (Indian Premier League) and Kolkata Knight Riders is owned by Famous King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan’s Company Red Chillies Entertainment in partnership with Bollywood Herione Juhi Chawla and with her husband Jay Mehta from the Mehta Group.
Kolkata Knight Riders: quality proposition but some holes to plug. Largely in keeping with the rejoicing fact that they are the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders have retained all but 4 of their players for the 2013 edition. Yet, one wonders if the formula that helped them win in 2012 will hold true this time too.
Kolkata Knight Riders, winners of the 2012 edition of the tournament, will commence their quest to retain the title, on home turf. They will take on Delhi Daredevils in the IPL 2013 inaugural clash of the competition at the Eden Gardens, on 3 April 2013.

Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians: Great chance if they maintain consistency. For Mumbai Indians, the story in IPL has ever been so near; yet so far. They will hope that diction changes when 2013 IPL comes up. The Reliance owned team has retained a host of players to maintain sequence and steadiness, releasing only half-a-dozen.Reliance Industries Limitedpurchased the rights for the Mumbai franchise of Indian Premier League for a total of 496 Cr ($ 124 m) during the auction on January 24, 2008. The franchise was eventually named the Mumbai Indians. The RIL bid made the Mumbai Indians the most expensive franchise in the 2007 IPL auction till 2010 edition. In 2011 team auction saw the Sahara Pune Warriors bought by Subroto Roy taking that title worth 1726 Cr ($ 375.2 m).
Mumbai Indians announced the appointment of John Geoffrey Wright as the Head Coach ahead of the IPL 2013 season, while Robin Singh will continue to lend his services to Mumbai Indians.

King XI Punjab : Half-baked and frayed at the edges. There is a feeling that Kings Xi Punjab plays IPL only for entertainment and a spread of litmus tests. Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals: A listless team with some definite promise. Rajasthan seem to be on a quest that is analogous to Jack Sparrow’s in the Caribbean series of movies. They won the inaugural IPL, and since then locked the recipe for success in a lumber room and are still looking for keys. Absence of the talismanic Shane Warne who doubled up as mentor hits them hugely. The Group acquired the franchise for $67 million. Incidentally, this was the least expensive franchise in the Indian Premier League and probably the least fancied team in the league at the beginning of the tournament. Bollywood actress and Celebrity Big Brother winner Shilpa Shetty and her business partner (now husband) Raj Kundra paid approximately US $15.4 million for a 11.7% stake before the start of IPL 2 in early 2009, therefore valuing the team at $130 million. It made a pre-tax profit of $7.5 million in 2009.
The total 9 IPL franchises have confirmed their squads for Pepsi IPL 2013.
