Why I Chose this topic is because it was one of the most memorable match for an ardent Cricket fan especially for fans of Indian and Australian team.It became memorable due to some awesome perfornances by some players as well as the main point to highlight is it was the match which created some unique records and broke some major records which were held for a long time.So here we are writing below all the records and facts related to this match.Friends lock your seat belts as this journey would be very much amusing as we hope all the hard cricket followers here would be eagerly waiting to read this.So the journey starts here....








*Rohit Sharma's 209 is the highest
individual score by any batsman
against Australia in ODIs.

*Rohit Sharma became the third player to score a double hundred in a single ODI innings.The other two are Sachin- 200* & Sehwag - 219 are also Indians.

*With that double hundred Rohit Sharma brought up his 3000 ODI runs.

*Rohit Sharma became the fourth player after V Kohli,G Bailey,Misbah -ul- Haq to hit 1000 runs in 2013 calendar year.

*Rohit Sharma's 209 became his highest individual score surpassing his previous best of 141* which was scored in the same series.

*Rohit Sharma has hit the highest number of sixes (16) in a single ODI innings overtaking Shane Watson's 15 against Bangladesh.

*Rohit Sharma's 209 is the highest individual score against Australia by any batsman.

*Rohit Sharma's 209 is second highest individual score in ODI's in world cricket.

*Rohit Sharma's 209 is the highest individual score by any batsman at Chinnaswamy Stadium.







* India registered their first bilateral ODI series win at home against Australia.

*India's score of 383/6 is the highest ever score by India against Australia.

*The fifth wicket partnership between Rohit and Dhoni comprising of 167 runs is the highest fifth wicket partnership for India.







*The partnership between Faulkner and Coulter-Nile was termed as the highest partnership for Australia at that position.

*India became the first team to score more than 350 three times in the course of the same series.

*The 36 sixes hit in the match is the most ever in an ODI. The previous highest was 31.

*Rohit's fourth ODI hundred was his second of the series. Before his unbeaten 141 against Australia in Jaipur on October 16, 2013, Rohit had last scored a century (101 not out) against Sri Lanka in Bulawayo on March 30, 2010.

*Before this series, no batsman
had scored two centuries between
India and Australia. Kohli and Rohit finished with two each.







*Rohit and Shikhar Dhawan added 112 for the opening wicket, their third of the series and sixth this
year, a record by an opening pair.

*Rohit and Dhawan put on a 100-plus stand for the third time against Australia. That is the most by any opening pair

*Rohit went past Tendulkar's record of most runs by an Indian in a bilateral series. Rohit finished with 491 from six innings. Tendulkar had scored 374 against Sri Lanka in 2007 while MS Dhoni had 347 against Sri Lanka in 2005.



*The Indian innings contained a
total of 19 sixes. The highest before that was 18 (on four occasions) and India had done so twice.



*Glen Maxwell's 18-ball fifty equalled the fastest ever by an Australian along with Simon O'Donnell. This was also the fastest by any batsman against India.






*James Faulkner got to his maiden hundred off just 57 balls. It was the fastest ever by an Australian in ODIs.The previous was best by Hayden (66 balls).

*Vinay Kumar recorded the most expensive figures in an ODI by an Indian. He also became the first
Indian bowler to concede over 100 runs in an ODI.

There are still many records created in this series but the most important ones to highlight are,






*Virat Kohli bringing up the fastest century in an ODI by an Indian in just 52 balls leaving behind the previous best of V Sehwag which was hit in 60 balls.

*Ishant Sharma's 30 runs over hit by J Faulkner equalled the highest runs hit by a bowler in one over.

*India twice were succesfully able to chase 350+ scores in this series is a highest number of 350+ chase by a team in a single series.
