Welcome guys! Its been a long time since our last post and we kindly apologise for a long wait and apart from that The whole team of EU4U would like to wish our readers a happy and a prosperous Diwali!! Its been a couple of months since we were out of action but now this time we are back with a bang with an exciting and a solid post involving the 7th ODI between the recently concluded Star Sports India VS Australia series.

Why I Chose this topic is because it was one of the most memorable match for an ardent Cricket fan especially for fans of Indian and Australian team.It became memorable due to some awesome perfornances by some players as well as the main point to highlight is it was the match which created some unique records and broke some major records which were held for a long time.So here we are writing below all the records and facts related to this match.Friends lock your seat belts as this journey would be very much amusing as we hope all the hard cricket followers here would be eagerly waiting to read this.So the journey starts here....

*Rohit Sharma's 209 is the highest
individual score by any batsman
against Australia in ODIs.

*Rohit Sharma became the third player to score a double hundred in a single ODI innings. The other two are Sachin- 200* & Sehwag - 219 are also Indians.

*With that double hundred Rohit Sharma brought up his 3000 ODI runs.

*Rohit Sharma became the fourth player after V Kohli,G Bailey,Misbah -ul- Haq to hit 1000 runs in 2013 calendar year.

*Rohit Sharma's 209 became his highest individual score surpassing his previous best of 141* which was scored in the same series.

*Rohit Sharma has hit the highest number of sixes (16) in a single ODI innings overtaking Shane Watson's 15 against Bangladesh.

*Rohit Sharma's 209 is the highest individual score against Australia by any batsman.

*Rohit Sharma's 209 is second highest individual score in ODI's in world cricket.

*Rohit Sharma's 209 is the highest individual score by any batsman at Chinnaswamy Stadium.

* India registered their first bilateral ODI series win at home against Australia.

*India's score of 383/6 is the highest ever score by India against Australia.

*The fifth wicket partnership between Rohit and Dhoni comprising of 167 runs is the highest fifth wicket partnership for India.

*The partnership between Faulkner and Coulter-Nile was termed as the highest partnership for Australia at that position.

*India became the first team to score more than 350 three times in the course of the same series.

*The 36 sixes hit in the match is the most ever in an ODI. The previous highest was 31.

*Rohit's fourth ODI hundred was his second of the series. Before his unbeaten 141 against Australia in Jaipur on October 16, 2013, Rohit had last scored a century (101 not out) against Sri Lanka in Bulawayo on March 30, 2010.

*Before this series, no batsman
had scored two centuries between
India and Australia. Kohli and Rohit finished with two each.

*Rohit and Shikhar Dhawan added 112 for the opening wicket, their third of the series and sixth this
year, a record by an opening pair.

*Rohit and Dhawan put on a 100-plus stand for the third time against Australia. That is the most by any opening pair

*Rohit went past Tendulkar's record of most runs by an Indian in a bilateral series. Rohit finished with 491 from six innings. Tendulkar had scored 374 against Sri Lanka in 2007 while MS Dhoni had 347 against Sri Lanka in 2005.

*The Indian innings contained a
total of 19 sixes. The highest before that was 18 (on four occasions) and India had done so twice.

*Glen Maxwell's 18-ball fifty equalled the fastest ever by an Australian along with Simon O'Donnell. This was also the fastest by any batsman against India.

*James Faulkner got to his maiden hundred off just 57 balls. It was the fastest ever by an Australian in ODIs.The previous was best by Hayden (66 balls).

*Vinay Kumar recorded the most expensive figures in an ODI by an Indian. He also became the first
Indian bowler to concede over 100 runs in an ODI.

There are still many records created in this series but the most important ones to highlight are,

*Virat Kohli bringing up the fastest century in an ODI by an Indian in just 52 balls leaving behind the previous best of V Sehwag which was hit in 60 balls.

*Ishant Sharma's 30 runs over hit by J Faulkner equalled the highest runs hit by a bowler in one over.

*India twice were succesfully able to chase 350+ scores in this series is a highest number of 350+ chase by a team in a single series.

We hope that all our beloved readers and all the Cricket fans enjoyed this record breaking post. We personally feel that as wins and loses are part and parcel of the game, though India won the final game but the Aussies won millons of heart as they showed a great fighting spirit.Readers please comment your views on this match below. So friends next time we will be back wit yet another interesting post, till then be entertained and stay entertained!!!

CRICKET:ICC CHAMPIONS TROPHY 2013;RECORDS,SQUADS & FIXTURES!!!

As the season of domestic cricket has been spread all over the world over the years recently its very much frequent we see players representing their national sides & also due to the popularity of such domestic T20 tournaments played in various parts of the world, people are also stuck to such format due to its excitement!!!
But the real part of cricket lies in supporting our nation & see our favorite players representing our team.So for this year, right in this month its time for some action packed cricket as we come across with a major prestigious tournament of cricket which is ICC Champions Trophy!!!

HISTORY OF THIS TOURNAMENT

The ICC Champions Trophy is a One Day International circuit organised by International Cricket Council(ICC) Which is also termed as the second important cricket tournament only next to ICC Cricket World Cup!!!It was inaugurated as the ICC Knock Out Tournament in 1998 and has been played approximately every two years. Then later its name was changed to ICC Champions Trophy in 2002.The number of teams competing has varied over the years; originally all the ICC's full members took part, and from 2000 to 2004 associate members were also involved.Since 2009, the tournament has only involved the eight highest-ranked ODI teams as of six months prior to the tournament. The ICC intends that the 2013 Champions Trophy will be last, with its place in the cricketing calendar taken by a new format ICC World Test Championship.

FORMAT OF THE TOURNAMENT

The Champions Trophy differs from the World Cup in a number of ways. The Champions Trophy takes place every two years, while the World Cup is held every four years. The matches in the Champions Trophy are held over a period of around two weeks, while the World Cup can last for over a month. For 2002 and 2004, twelve teams played a round-robin tournament in four pools of three, with the top team in each pool moving forward to the semi-final. A team would play only four games (two in the pool, semi-final and final) to win the tournament. In 2006, eight teams played in two pools of four, with the top two teams in each pool playing in the semi-finals. Losing even a single match would potentially mean elimination from the tournament.
The format used in the Knock Out tournaments differed from the formats used in the Champions Trophy. The competition was a straight knock out, with no pools and the loser in each game being eliminated. Only 8 games were played in 1998, and 10 games in 2000.
